TextQuote (“we,” “us,” or “TextQuote”) operates the TextQuote service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect what is necessary to deliver instant estimates:

Your phone number – the only identifier we use.
Photos and messages you send us.
Usage metadata (date, time, delivery status).
Payment information (if you upgrade to a paid plan). We do not store full credit card numbers; payment processing is handled by a third-party processor.

We do not collect your name, email, exact location, or other personal details unless you voluntarily provide them.

2. How We Use Your Information

To analyze your photos and generate professional cost-range estimates.
To send you the estimates via SMS, WhatsApp, or Telegram.
To improve our AI model. Photos are used for AI training only if you do not opt out. You may opt out at any time by texting “NOAI” to us or emailing legal@textquote.com. Opting out does not affect your ability to use the service.
To respond to your support requests and send service-related messages.
To comply with legal obligations (e.g., TCPA consent records).
To communicate about your account, including billing (if applicable) and changes to our terms or policies.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as necessary:

With service providers (SMS gateways such as Twilio, AI processing partners, payment processors) under strict data-processing agreements that prohibit them from using your data for any other purpose.
If required by law (subpoena, court order, etc.).
In the event of a business transfer (merger, acquisition), your information may be transferred under the same protections.

We never sell your phone number, photos, or any personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising.

4. Data Retention

We keep your phone number and account records for as long as you use the service and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations.

Photos and messages: We delete original photos and message content from our active systems within 30 days after processing. However, if you have not opted out of AI training, we may retain an anonymized, aggregated version of the photo analysis data to improve our model. This data does not contain your phone number or any identifiable link back to you.

You can request earlier deletion of your phone number and all associated data by texting “STOP” or emailing legal@textquote.com. We will delete or de-identify your data within 30 days of your request, except for data we are legally required to keep.

5. Security

We use industry-standard encryption and security measures. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

6. Your Rights

For all users: You may request to access, correct, or delete your data by texting us or emailing legal@textquote.com.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, opt out of any “sale” of data (we do not sell data), and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. You also have the right to opt out of automated profiling for the AI rendering, which you may do by texting “NOAI”.

Massachusetts Residents: You have similar rights under Massachusetts privacy laws. Contact us using the information below.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date and, if changes are material, by sending a text message to the phone number you provided.
